Winter Time

This winter was ridiculous. It almost never stopped snowing and the temperature was not suitable for human life...haha, at least this human.  It was cold, but we made it through and had a jam packed season!  Right away after Christmas Ali got engaged!  It was so so exciting and fun and we all surprised her at a restaurant downtown after it happened!

SISTERS!  2 of Brian's, Heidi & Tiffany and Al & I!

She's a SPARKLER!  We are beyond excited to add Brian to our family and be a part of the wedding planning!

Crosbi had a big winter!  She discovered her LOVE of reading and grabs books and "reads" to herself all day long.  It actually is so precious I kind of never want her to learn the real way.  Ha ha!  She also discovered her love of dancing and singing and more specifically to the music from Frozen, or as she calls it, "GO".  This girl could watch GO 10 times a day and requests to more!  She's even started to sing along to the songs and say some of the lines.  Her favorite??  When princess Elsa asks, "What's that smell??"  Crosbi yells out "Chocolate" with all she's got.  She's her mother's daughter!  Our bummer this winter was that Crosbi Lu wanted to match outdo her brothers and not only chipped her front tooth, but knocked the other one right out.  She had a rough first night and eventually we decided that the dentist had to take the tooth, so in all pics from here on out, she is our toothless wonder!  haha!  She also decided that she's too big for the crib and after a few nights of hearing giant rumbles from upstairs and finding her on the floor when we checked we decided that little Crosbi needed a BIG GIRL bed!  We said goodbye to our crib of 7 years and reminisced all the memories of all 3 of our little babes sleeping in it.  Whew, time is moving at light speed it seems, but more and more I just feel thankful that I got to be a part of it at all instead of feeling sad it's gone.

Sad baby after her tooth incident.  It's still in, but not for long...poor thing!

Out with the old, in with the new!

Such a hunny bunny in her BIG bed!!

As stated up top...it was a looooooong winter, stuck inside.  So there was a lot of this going on....

Ryan, Jason, Erin & I did manage to sneak away for a weekend up to the lake and it was so nice.  We ate awesome food and drank coffee all day and watched the snow come down in our jammies until the afternoon.  No schedule or plans or kiddos for a few days was just what we needed to recharge!

Griff on the 100th day of school...they dressed like 100 year olds & just a normal day for Crosbi.

Valentines Day and our birthdays always mash together every year & this year was no different.  I helped in Sawyer's room at the Valentine party & Ryan went to Griffin's class for his party!  We had to bring healthy snacks so we came up with these LOVE bugs for Beanie mans pals!

And we celebrated our birthdays at home with the kids and at our favorite place out, the Turf Room!

As winter melted ran over into Spring we got to spend a week with Molly, our friend from Nebraska! I babysat her and her brothers when I was in college and it just so happened that her family dropped her off on the way from a college visit for her brother Parker.  Oh my!  Now that dates me!  We had a blast and I LOVED having her around all week, and so did the kids!

Crosbi killing us with her toothless smiles and requests to dunk!

And what would a season be without posting a paint job I made Ryan do!  He's such a trooper! We painted our downstairs bathroom a coral color and it definitely "lit up" the space.  We took it down a notch and now it feels like home, but it still kind of glows.  In a good way, I say!

These kids love their dad and so do I.

And that takes care of the winter highlights!
