Joyfully Dedicated

This Saturday we had the great honor of dedicating Sawyer at church. It was a celebration with all the usual suspects....

there were grandparents

and Aunties

and kisses & the ever important at every big event...cake
(even if it was decorated without the yellow polka dots you requested and a blue cross that you didn't...haha!)

and "dress" up clothes

and good ole fashion family lovin

but most importantly it was a time for Ryan & I to commit once again to the way we have chose to raise our children!

...which is to walk with the Lord, showing our love and devotion to him, each other and our kids. I LOVE the idea of dedication, because we know we have nothing to do with the actual act of salvation for our kids, but we hope & pray that we can help lead them to a relationship with their heavenly Father through the way we live and the way we parent! In one of the "prep" videos we watched before the dedication, they asked we start praying for and about the day our kids accept Jesus as their savior and we sat down and did just that. I have to say, it felt good to be lifting up Sawyer (& of coarse Griffin) to the Lord about this. I love these boys more than life and knowing that they choose Jesus for their life is the biggest dream I have for them!

So in a lot of ways, it was like any other celebration...but for our role as parents in Beanie's life, it doesn't get bigger than this!

Little man, you were wonderfully created by God who loves you more than we can imagine and we are so excited to see you walk with him. It is our beautiful blessing to be a part of that.
